''Cultural Conflict Between Modern Ideas And Traditional Animist Beliefs.''

This is another type of a conflict which exists mostly between Old and young generations. Moreover, it depicts the generation gap too; where Young accepts ''modernaization'' and Old who does not accept ''the change or modernization''.

This has become a serious issue perhaps all over the world depending according to their culture.

We can see such a conflict in Chinua Achebe's short story,  ''Dead Men's Path''.

The tribal culture's animistic beliefs come into conflict with the modern ideology.And also we can see Michael Obi's ignorance of other beliefs where he does not tolerate the local's animistic beliefs. And it is depicted as a ''tribal war situation'' by the White supervisor. Therefore this story is layered with irony.

And at the end we'll see what happens to the zeal of the reform-minded Obi who was dismissed by his post of Headmaster due to his ''misguided zeal''.

According to my point of view, what I feel is we should respect other's ideas and opinions and I end this commentary by accepting ''moderation''.

The whole life of this village depends on it. Our dead relatives depart by it and our ancestors visit us by it. But most important, it is the path of children coming in to be born.
We follow the practices of our fathers. If you reopen the path we shall have nothing to quarrel about. What I always say is: ''let the halk perch and let the eagle perch''.

Human beings are a combination of both Good and Bad  (fair and foul). If someone is trying to be unnatural (going against the nature) by foul means, there'll be serious repercussions.

And if someone is ''PERFECT'', he/she stands above us with perfection.

The Rapist

Just few minutes ago, I read an article about a girl who was raped at the age of 17 in India. 
There are some common actions which happen after someone (girl) is raped by a man. Normally they commit suicide or they'll try to occupy with a new job obtaining the title ''prostitute''. But among them there are some extraordinary females who think and act differently. That shows their determination and the courage that they have to live. 
I've mentioned about a particular girl who was a victim in this issue. She has undergone this physical harrassment by a man who is mean and base. She has considered this as something different and painful which has happened to her vagina. 
But some women commit suicide in order to defend their parents', husbands' or someone elses' reputation. They lack courage to have life. They break up everything once they got a break in their vagina. 
Partly it's our duty and responsibility to safeguard these victims and prevent the recurrence of these actions. 
And I'll leave a question for the audience, ''what action will you suggest for a rapist? ''
